Even during a truce, Dr. Petra Robichaud has her hands full as the M*A*S*H surgeon to an army of warring gods—especially when Medusa herself turns up pregnant. Petra has no idea what to expect when a gorgon’s expecting, but she won’t let it turn her to stone. As the healer-hero of an ancient prophesy, it’s Petra’s job to keep the peace. But as the lover to a warrior demi-god, she knows how impossible some jobs can be…

Commander Galen is sexy, strong, and sworn to lead his team to hell and back. But when he announces to Petra that he can no longer risk her life for his love, the doctor is on her own…Until a mysterious new entity—in the form of a hot-blooded male—enters the picture. Can he be trusted? Can he be resisted? Meanwhile, an oracle delivers another prophesy that places Petra back on the frontlines with the man she may be bound to for eternity—in love, or in war…

This is definitely NOT your TV M.A.S.H. program… This is the MASH from hell (even if it is only limbo) … Like the roach motels on TV, once you get drafted in, you can’t get out.  Our favorite MASH doc has her hands full even during a a truce…  Petra has to do her job and still keep her secrets unexposed.

In the middle of all this her boyfriend Galen breaks up with her, the Oracle comes out with another prediction, and she gets caught up with  having to work with someone from the other side in order to work on her new anesthesia.  Things are going to be moving at a fast pace and you the reader is going to be glued to your chair until you’ve finished this book, and started looking for more, But it won’t be there.  Siiiiigh.

Lexi George Has Struck Gold Again!

Demon Hunting in a Dive BarDemon Hunting in a Dive Bar

By Lexi George

Copyright February 2013

Publisher: Brava

Rebekah “Beck” Damian runs a demonoid bar where everyone’s welcome—even a reformed flesheater who’s strictly vegetarian, a musical ghost who’s looking for a piano bar, and a feline harbinger of doom named Wampus Kitty who’s scaring the customers. So when a big strapping demon-hunter walks into the bar, Beck knows it’s not the end of the world. She’ll treat him like any other customer.

If only she could. Conall Dalvahni is the toughest, meanest, sexiest demon-hunter Beck’s ever seen—and she’s finding it hard to hide her attraction. As far as Conall’s concerned, the feeling is mutual. But how can he trust a beautiful half-demon babe like Beck—when her demonic friends have the perfect weapon to destroy every hunter on earth?

This is the third book in the Demon Hunting Series.  Each one showcases another member of the Dalvahni “brother’s” lives and adventures in our dimension.  Beck Damian is the owner and manager of a demonoid bar.

Connall Dalvahni has been hanging out at Beck’s place trying to decide whether he should destroy her or not since she is half demon.  She puzzles the hell out of him because she doesn’t “smell” like a demon.  As the story unfolds Beck is employing a number of new people in the place.  She takes in a Vegetarian Zombie and a ghostly piano player.  Connall decides that she is the one he needs to help stop a major incursion by demon’s who have a new weapon to destroy him and his brothers.  The sparks fly, not only in battle but between Beck and Connall.

Lexi George has struck again. This third book in her Demon Hunting series is the most mind boggling one to date.  I’ve been totally drawn into the action and intrigue of this series right from the beginning… I started because the title of the book was so unusual and catchy, and stayed for the fighting, the romance, and the action.   I think you will also.

Immortally Yours is a M.A.S.H. Hit!

Immortally Yours

By: Angie Fox

Publisher: St. Martin’s Paperback

IN THE WAR BETWEEN THE GODS…

No one patches up the incoming wounded like Dr. Petra Robichaud. Recruited by the gods for her uncanny medical skills, she’s the best M*A*S*H surgeon in the army. Along with a nosy guard sphinx, vegetarian werewolf, and otherparanormal paramedics, she bandages soldiers who are built like Greek gods (literally). But when one sexy immortal ends up on her operating table—half dead and totally to-die-for—Petra’s afraid she’ll lose her patient and her heart…

NOTHING IS MORE DANGEROUS THAN LOVE

Commander Galen of Delphi is one gorgeous but stubborn demi-god. When his spirit tries to slip out of his fatally wounded body, Dr. Petra has to slip it back in—unwittingly revealing her ability to see ghosts. Now that Galen knows her secret, he’s convinced she’s part of an ancient prophecy. If the oracles are right, Petra could lead Galen’s army to peace. And if he seduces her on the way to hell and back? Heaven knows—all’s fair in love and war…

There isn’t much you can say about a book like this one. So I’m going to keep my comments mercifully short.

Angie Fox has done the impossible! She’s out M.A.S.H.’d the original M.A.S.H.. Wherever they are, Richard Hooker and William E. Butterworth are giving her a standing ovation. Immotally Your’s is a Paranormal Tour de Force. The characters will leave you rolling in laughter and if you’re not careful you’ll need a change of undies also.

Tami Dane has Another Winner in “Blood of Innocence”

Blood of Innocence

By Tami Dane

Gifted profiler Sloan Skye joins the hunt for an elusive serial killer–and discovers a breed of criminal few know exists . . .

A cynic by nature, Sloan Skye wasn’t thrilled when she was assigned to the FBI’s Paranormal Behavioral Analysis Unit. But her doubts are slowly easing, especially when she sees that working on the fringe allows her to use some of her more unconventional tactics. Most of all, Sloan’s grateful her career is on track–because her love life, if you can even call it that, is in shambles.

Sloan is searching for a suspect who slays his female victims at night, and bizarrely drains their bodies of blood. Bad enough, but when Sloan learns what the killer is really after, she can barely sleep at night. When the suspect guns for someone very close to Sloan, it’s time to throw out the rules and face her deepest fears . . .

Sloan is not sure going to keep her lunch down at the new crime scene she and the team she’s summer interning with have been called to.  The victim (a woman) appears to have been exsanguinated and all her blood somehow removed without a drop of blood spatter at the scene.  .  All they have is a small puncture wound in the groin area.  On top of that the woman has been tucked back into her bed with the covers drawn up around her neck.

The team begins their own investigation of the crime scene, and the only thing Sloan can find is a hole in the window screen.  How the heck does someone or something enter and leave a room without leaving a single bit of evidence behind? As they are finishing up, JT the other summer intern voices an observation that stuns the group. “I think she was pregnant” causing Sloan to lose it, she races to the window, flings it open and loses her lunch into the garden below.

This is the second book in Tami Dane’s new Blood series.  Sloan Skye and the members of the FBI’s Supernatural Profiling Unit handle any case that has even a whiff of strange to it.  The characters are well founded and 3 dimensional both in their actions, and their backstories.   I highly recommend this to anyone who love a good CSI type story and a paranormal setting. This is an Urban Fantasy you can really sink your mind into.

Sacred blood flows in Hannah MacPherson’s veins; she’s just too hardheaded to realize it. After losing a husband to the Iraq war, she’s squirreled herself away in a tiny town where she snarls at any man who gives her a second glance. But Taggart de Gaelson knows more about Hannah than she could ever fathom. As her assigned protector, Taggart’s grown tired of Hannah ignoring his messages from Scotland—and now he’s come to retrieve her.

The balance of the Continuum depends on a race of sacred creatures who maintain the strength of the portals. Only Hannah’s touch can release the hatchlings from their eggs. Sworn to protect Hannah from others who lust for control of the beasts, Taggart must win her trust. But as he battles at her side, can he protect his heart?

Hannah MacPherson is a veterinarian in her hometown of Jasper Mills.  She lives a quiet life taking care of her neighbors’ pets, and farm animals.  In return they take care of her.  The whole town had a hand in raising her after her mother and grandmother died so her life is pretty placid.  Of course there’s the family gift, her ability to understand the animals around her and communicate with them in return.

Her current problem is the trickster who keeps moving her car and parking it at fire plugs in the Town Square causing her to receive an inordinate amount of tickets from the town’s Sheriff.  The fact that he leaves cutesy little notes on them is not endearing him to her either.  Today she is going to find out who the culprit or culprits are.  She’s set up a camera overlooking the town and will photograph the jokester once and for all.

Meanwhile across the world in Scotland a man Hannah has never met or heard of is getting more and more annoyed with her.  Taggart de Gaelson has been sending her letter after letter trying to contact her about an inheritance that would change her life.  It seems she is the last living heir to a castle and a large area of land.  Taggart is forced to travel to the US to find her and convince her to visit Scotland and her inheritance.

This book has all the makings of a classic romance and adventure. Hannah our unsuspecting heroine will have to dig deep and learn to use all the skills and gifts that are her true family inheritance.  She will face challenges she never dreamed of, and face long hidden truths.

When I first read the blurb for this book I knew that it was a story that I had to read and share with the world.  I was drawn deeply into the heart of the characters, and found myself looking out of Hannah’s eyes through most of it.  My summation of the book is this: Outstanding, Romantic, Scottish Castles, Dragons and Maidens. Who could ask for more?

His Dark Bond Will Enthrall You to the End

His Dark Bond

By Anne Marsh

Copyright February 2012

Publisher Brava

Zer is no angel – well, not anymore. He’s explored every flavour of sin imaginable, drinking in the pleasures of humanity. But now he must find the woman who carries his salvation in her very blood…a woman like Nessa St. James.

Nessa has considered the bargain the Fallen offer. Anything she wants in exchange for accepting Zer’s bond? No way. Not her. Not when she finds out about the mind-blowing ritual involved and the marks of surrender that will ink her skin. But with a serial killer to stop and centuries of experience on his side, Zer will do whatever it takes to change her.

Nessa is one of the country’s leading geneticists.  So she is more than a little upset when she is called into the Dean’s office and told that her funding was cancelled and her lab was being closed.  It was her own research that was coming to bite her in the backside.  She’d developed a fast system of DNA testing. Just like a pregnancy test, you peed on the stick and it would tell you if you were human or paranormal.  Now the answer to that test is being used against her by someone who was not an academic.  He was a bean counter.

Nessa was given 3 days to find new funding or she had to vacate her lab. Desperate to find an answer she heads to the building where her lecture hall is and pulls out her cell phone, dialing while she walked.  She is contacting a company called Genecore which had contacted her with an interest in her research. She is determined to find her own funding and keep her lab open.

Zen is the leader of the Fallen (called Goblins on earth). They had been Angel’s and Heaven’s front line troops against evil, who rebelled against the Archangel Michael and were stripped of their wings and sent to Earth as punishment.  He left them one out.  For each fallen there is one Soul Mate.  In the three thousand years they’ve been banished they have found only one true Soul Mate.  This is because there is someone who is destroying them as soon as they are located.

Zen has managed to get a list of names which were stolen from their greatest enemy and now it was a race to find these women, who were destined to be the Soul Mates of his people.

Now we get to the crux of the story.  When Zen finds Nessa and basically kidnaps her, the true battle begins between them.  Zen to have her mate with one of his Fallen, and Nessa to regain her freedom and independence.  This is a romance that will rock the fabric of Zen’s existence and have Nessa tied up in emotional knots.

This second book in a new series it has all the elements of love, lust, anger, hate, and a kickass number of fights taking place.  I love it.  I think you will too.

A Daring Rescue

Emma Paulsen is a geneticist driven by science. But she’s also a psychic, so when a dark, good-hearted vampire frees her from the clutches of the evil Kurjans, she realizes he must be the man who’s been haunting her dreams. But with a virus threatening vampires’ mates, Emma may discover a whole new meaning of “lovesick”. . .

A Deadly Decision

As King of the Realm, Dage Kayrs has learned to practice diplomacy. Still, it’s taken three hundred years to find his mate, so he’ll stop at nothing to protect her—even if it means turning his back on his own kind. . .

Emma Paulsen is an independent woman and a research scientist.  She’s also a strong psychic, which is why both the good guys and the bad guys want her.  Her bigger problem is that Dage Kayrs, as King wants her for more than her brains or gift.  He wants her as his Queen and means to claim her while she’s still alive.

Emma is fighting Dage off as hard as she can; she refuses to give up her independence and freedom to choose her own path.  Unfortunately Dage has marked her and with this on top of the war going on, and the research she must finish she feels stretched to her limits.

This is the second book in this new series, the first being Fated.  I found this book to be an exciting and fast read.  You get pulled into the story and immediately feel called upon to take sides.  You will cheer when Emma pulls a fast one, or maybe you’ll cheer when Dage wins an argument with his detractors. However you find yourself, it will be a real roller coaster ride of adventure, love, and thrills.

Review and Contest – Win a copy of The Real Werewives of Vampire County

The Real Werewives of Vampire County

By: Alexandra Ivy/Angie Fox/Jess Haines/Tami Dane

I’m Pureblood Were, And Proud Of It. . .
“Where Darkness Lives” by Alexandra Ivy

No one’s more surprised than Sophia when she’s struck by an unfamiliar maternal urge to move near her daughters. But instead of being greeted by a welcome committee, she’s targeted by kidnappers. . .and saddled with a gorgeous bodyguard on a mission to protect—and seduce. . .

I’m A Tomboy At Heart, But I Want A Man Who Makes Me Feel Like A Real Woman. . .
“Murder on Mysteria Lane” by Angie Fox

When a werewolf trophy wife is found dead in Vampire County, Heather McPhee goes undercover to investigate. Heather’s never been a mascara-and-manicures sort of girl, but she’s willing to learn. Especially with sexy vampire detective Lucien Mead posing as her husband. . .

Who’s Afraid Of The Big, Bad Werewolves? Not Me, That’s For Sure. . .
“What’s Yours is Mine” by Jess Haines

Still Waters is like many other exclusive gated communities—except that it’s home to one of the largest werewolf packs in the state. But Tiffany Winters isn’t frightened of her big, bad new neighbors. In fact, she intends to take her place among the pack. . .

This Is A Town Full Of Secrets. And I Intend To Uncover All Of Them. . .
“Werewolves in Chic Clothing” by Tami Dane

Ever since Christine Price moved in with her fiancé, Jonathan, and his twelve year-old son, she’s worked hard to fit in with a cadre of local women whose lives seem picture-perfect. Except no one in Jon’s upscale neighborhood is quite who they appear to be. Least of all Jon. . .

This anthology is a fun read. Each of the stories take you into a different area of people’s lives. I think it’s even better then television.

Where Darkness Lives:

Sophia thought that moving closer to her daughter would make things better. She’s got her own business to run, a nice home in a gated community and all she wants is to be on her own and take life one day at a time. Why someone would want to kidnap her is beyond her understanding.  Now she’s stuck with a bodyguard with a body to die for and an attitude she could certainly do without. How this little play runs its course is just something you’ll have to read on your own. LOL

I thoroughly enjoyed this section of the book and will certainly keep an eye out of more of Alexandra Ivy’s works.

Murder on Mysteria Lane:

Heather McPhee is both honored and feared in her pack. Her gift is used for their benefit and her own.  When a werewolf trophy wife is found dead she is sent in by Finnegan the Alpha of her pack she is not a happy camper. She is paired up with a Vampire Detective and expected to go undercover to find the killer and she’s got only three nights to do it or her pack goes to war.

I love Heather’s character, she an uber tomboy on steroids.  She’s also got a very dry sense of humor that just seems to click with me.  I hope she will be making more appearances in the future.

Whats Yours is Mine:

There’s a new hottie in the neighborhood and unfortunately she’s single.  Chain up her husbands ladies.  Cassandra Sachs thinks that “Tiffany” will fit right in with her group.  A group of Werewolves.  Little do they know that Tiffany has plans of her own for this group of women and their families.  Too bad that in their zeal to bring in someone new it could all come back to bite them in the rear.

This little story is about the ladies of a werewolf pack who think they can find new talent better then the boys can.  I thought it was humorous and fun to read.

Werewolves in Chic Clothing:

Christine Price has her life packed into her old junker and a rusty U-Haul.  She’s leaving the city to move in with her Fiancé and his twelve year old son.  She’s excited and extremely nervous.  Is she doing the right thing?  Will this all work out for a “Happily Ever After”?  Arriving at her new home she sees Jonathon  standing in the driveway wearing an extremely happy face.  He opens the driver’s door before she even puts the car in PARK and is sweeps her into his arms. This might sound like your everyday fairy tale where Mr. Wonderful does everything in his power to make his lady happy and welcome.  But Jonathon’s got secrets.  The whole neighborhood has secrets as she finds out when she meets the neighborhood ladies.

I was waiting for Christine to pack herself into her car and head back to the city by chapter 3. The world she is entering is like the Twilight Zone compared to her past life.  This story is for anyone who enjoys intrigue and romance all balled up in a comedic paranormal romance.

Devilishly HOT is Devilishly Funny!

Devilishly Hot

By: Kathy Love

Copyright: November 2011

Publisher: Brava Paranormal Romance

And you thought your job was hell. . .

Annie Lou Riddle had a plan: Move to New York City. Break into the fashion industry. Work her way to the top. Nowhere in that scenario did she expect to accidentally sell her soul in exchange for a job at Hot! Magazine. Oops.

Demons, it seems, aren’t big on letting mortals off the hook. Now Annie is stuck working as assistant/personal slave to Finola White—diva extraordinaire, and glamorous she-devil. Whatever Finola wants, she gets, and she wants Annie to match her up with Nick Rossi, the gorgeous detective investigating shady doings at Hot!

Frankly, Annie sees the appeal. Nick is effortlessly sexy, rugged, charming—and the one man Annie should definitely not be flirting with, or kissing, or. . . Oops. But some loves are too devilishly hot to resist. . .

Finola White, owner and chief editor of HOT! Is a bitch from Hell, LITERALLY!  Working with or for her is bad for your health and your soul.

Annie Lou Riddle didn’t know then when she got the call from Hot! Magazine.  She’s been hired to be the personal assistant to Finola White herself.  Signing a ten year contract, and now three years into it, she is doing her best to keep from forfeiting for any reason at all.  Her life is one long headache and nervousness.

Heading out to run errands for Finola one afternoon she literally runs into this major hunk of a guy who she thinks is probably a model or something.  Little did she know that this man (Detective Nick Rossi) was going to turn her life on its head and eventually change it in ways she never would have imagined.

Devilishly Hot is a Paranormal Romance with large chunks of humor tossed in for flavoring.  I read a short story which featured Finola in a novella recently and was totally blown away by the concept and the writing.  Kathy Love has a light touch on the humor and a heavy well written hand on the main story.

I highly recommend this book to lovers of the genre Romance in any of its forms.
